About Mount Kinabalu

Mount Kinabalu is the pride and heritage of Sabah, Malaysia. It is protected as Kinabalu Park, a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

With the height at 4,095 meters (13,435 ft) above sea level, Mount Kinabalu is also the 20th most prominent mountain in the world. Mount Kinabalu can be hiked by even amateurs but must be accompanied by mountain guides at all times for safety and due to national park regulations.

Hiking the majestic Mount Kinabalu can be very rewarding especially to nature lovers as you would witness about 6000 species of plants, over 300 species of birds, and more than 100 mammalian species. If you are lucky enough, you might even catch a glimpse of the orangutans roaming freely.

Also, not forgetting the gigantic Rafflesia plants that can only be found in Southeast Asia.

Before you embark on your journey to this majestic Mount Kinabalu, be sure you get your permit and book for your hike way before as only 130 hikers allowed to climb per day.
