This fishing island since the 1970s has gained attention and popularity in the 1990s due to its proximity to Sipadan Island. Do not underestimate this small oval-shaped island as it has its own special features and beauty as well.
The water on this island is so clear that you can almost see the marine life swimming under. Mabul is notable for its wonderful collection of macro life and since it is known as a fishing island, you’d definitely see lots of species of fish. Expect to see cuttlefish, blue-ringed octopus, spike-fin gobies, frogfish and moray eels.
Besides going scuba diving, there are many other things to do in Mabul Island. If you’re not a diver, you can explore Mabul Island by sea kayaking. And not just the typical kayaking, but you can kayak in a Molokini transparent kayak. It’s as though you’re just floating above the sea and be able to see everything underneath the sea as well.
