The Kinabatangan River with 560km length is located in Sabah that connects southwest Sabah to the Sulu Sea. The river is not just a home to the mangrove swamps, but also to the wildlife like saltwater crocodiles, proboscis monkeys, Orangutans, Borneon clouded leopards and even elephants.
With the efforts of NGOs, The Kinabatangan River has an area of 270 square kilometers designated to become a bird sanctuary because of its variety of birds.
